Lake Effects Boat Club's annual member appreciation event on Lake Norman becomes a private resort for an adults-only evening. Members gather for a Small Bites Soirée, entertainment, and mystery. Play a character or come as yourself in polished resort wear.

A note from the manager
We have been expecting you for some time.
Lake Lotus exists for one carefully arranged evening. The lawns have been cut, the torches have been set, and the guest book has been narrowed down to members of Lake Effects Boat Club and the companions they can vouch for.
Your evening includes a help-yourself Small Bites Soirée, chef-attended carving stations, water, tea, wine, beer, and champagne, followed by entertainment and a few mysterious surprises. What happens between conversations is, as always, the guest's business.
Dress code: resort formal — linen, pastels, and unhurried confidence.
Your arrival
You will not be walking
Leave the car at the top of the property and let the resort come to you. Carts run from the first lot all evening.
- Step One
Leave the car in the first lot
Park in the first parking lot as you enter the marina. Do not drive down to the water — the lower lots are closed to guests for the evening.
- Step Two
A cart will collect you
Private golf carts run continuously from the first lot to the resort entrance. A driver will find you. You are not expected to walk, and you are not expected to wait long.

After check-in, a host will meet you and guide you to the Portrait Tent.

Arrival & Cocktails
Arrive at the lake, check in by name, choose where you would like to sit, and settle in over cocktails—as your chosen character or simply yourself. Stop by the Paint Tent to capture your moment and have it transformed into a timeless watercolor portrait.
- 02 · 6:00–7:00 PM
Small Bites Soirée
The Small Bites Soirée opens for guests to enjoy at their leisure while characters mingle, stories begin to overlap, and the first clues hide in plain sight.
- 03 · 7:00–7:45 PM
A Mysterious Spectacle
The evening shifts into something unexpected. Keep your eyes on the shoreline and let the resort reveal its next surprise.
- 04 · 7:45–8:00 PM
After Dark
The energy changes as night settles over the lake. Solve the mystery at your own pace — nothing is timed and finishing first wins nothing.
- 05 · 8:00–9:00 PM
The Mystery Revealed & Awards
At eight, one final clue opens every table at once. Each table sends a single representative to the front for the Final Petal, followed by Best Dressed and Best Role Play honors.
The book closes when the suites do.
